With MRPeasy Professional edition, it is possible to track expiry dates of goods in your stock.

You can set the shelf life for the stock lots of parts, ingredients and final products. The software will use the FEFO method – first expired, first out – when booking materials to production and products to customers. This helps to make sure you use fresh ingredients and ship quality products to your customers.

Tracking expiry dates

The expiry date field is available for stock lots at “stock – stock lots.” If you open a stock lot’s details page, you can edit this field manually.

In an item’s details page, you can enter a default shelf life period, which the software uses to automatically estimate the shelf life for new items arriving into stock.

For example, when a purchase order is created, the expiry date is estimated as the expected arrival date of the goods plus the default shelf life in days. If the goods have a specific expiry date defined by their manufacturer, you can change it simply by opening the target stock lot.

The same logic applies to your manufactured products. The expiry date is, by default, estimated by adding the default shelf life in days to the finish date of the manufacturing order. And, if necessary, you can simply override it.

Booking expired items

The software does not automatically book expired items for manufacturing or for shipping to customers.

If a product has expired but is planned to be shipped, then when picking the item for shipment, the software will issue a warning to the user.

Enabling expiry date management

The expiry date management can be enabled at “settings – system settings – professional functions.”

In this video, we demonstrated how to use the “expiry date” functionality.
