Do you know why Santa Claus is so relaxed this year?

From the beginning of time, the process of making gifts for the whole world’s good boys and girls has been a nightmare for Santa Claus and the elves.

Procuring all the items, manufacturing the toys, wrapping the presents, shipping from the North Pole and making sure every kid gets what he/she wanted – at the exact right time…not earlier, not later – has always greatly strained the whole Santa gift-giving institution and everyone in it.

In fact, that’s the real reason why Santa and the elves take a very long holiday after each Christmas.

But, after last Christmas, they decided to finally do something about it!

Now, everyone – from Santa Claus to production, procurement and stock elves – are happy and relaxed.

What did they change?

This year, they started with planning and preparing the presents at the same time as last year. But now they had a new, reliable tool they started using – MRPeasy, a cloud-based, user-friendly production planning software.

Last year, weeks before Christmas, everything was a mess! Wrong materials had been ordered, toy trains were out of stock, some elves were heavily overburdened with gift-wrapping while others had nothing to do, the gifts of some kids were forgotten altogether…

But this year, thanks to MRPeasy, they are exactly on schedule. There have been no major issues, miscommunications, mistakes from double-data entry, no unexpected downtime and no overtime worked. Even more amazingly…they are working with one less shift!

The first thing Santa Claus did was enter all planned deliveries of gifts into the MRPeasy CRM.

The delivery time estimation function proved very helpful, because it showed Santa and the elves that some newly developed gifts could not be delivered on time due to long lead times, and some even exceeded the budget.

According to the gifts to be delivered, the production planning elves planned everything so that the presents would be delivered just in time.

As elves love the finer things in life, they cannot stop looking at the beautiful visual production calendars and Gantt charts in MRPeasy, where they can even use drag-and-drop rescheduling.

Some materials not in stock? No problem! These showed up in the Procurement section for the purchasing elves. Thanks to this, despite their forgetful and relaxed nature, they never forgot to order an item on time!

And what’s even better, MRPeasy considered the purchasing lead time when scheduling the operations!

The stock elves are very excited because there have been no stock-outs, and safety stock has been always available for emergencies.

It has been very easy to find each item, because the location is shown in MRPeasy. Plus, other small but time-saving features have made them very comfortable.

The shop-floor elves can now focus on what is the most important – making gifts for the children.

They easily see what has been planned for them for each day. No longer must they fill out thousands of paper forms, search for materials, wait for orders and deal with other organizational problems. They get all their information from the MRPeasy Internet-Kiosk, where they report as well.

In the MRPeasy CRM, Santa Claus has a great overview!

Which gifts have been already shipped to farther regions, which are ready to be dispatched, and which are still in production, or even possibly problematic?

Santa Claus is extremely relaxed and already thinking about all the happy children. He knows, without a doubt, that the gifts will be ready on time and how much they cost (even though they’re an NGO, the financials are important – Christmas must happen every year!).

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Do you work in a manufacturing company? Wouldn’t you want to be relaxed like Santa Claus?
