From my experience, they assume that if an inventory program includes a <a aria-label=\"Bill of Materials (BOM) (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/bill-of-materials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bill of Materials (BOM)<\/a>, that makes it an adequate software choice for manufacturing clients.&nbsp; And that\u2019s a wrong assumption to make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having a Bill of Materials function simply allows for \u2018light assembly\u2019 to take place and the according adjustments to Inventory Asset and Cost of Goods Sold to take place.&nbsp; For example, many producers these days sell online directly B2C and B2B, so they need integrated eCommerce access.&nbsp; MRPeasy natively works with Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, and Magento so customer orders can be brought in directly, without the need for \u2018bridge\u2019 programs or imports.&nbsp; A shoe distributor only needs to know how many pairs of shoes and of what size and brand are coming in, which ones they have in stock, and how many are on current sales orders.&nbsp; But if you\u2019re making shoes, you need to know how much of each material you have that is going into each of the final products and what are the forecasted demand requirements for material of future sales.&nbsp; Routings detail the operation steps and equipment, as well as track worker and department labor costs.\u00a0<a aria-label=\"Production Scheduling (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/production-scheduling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Production Scheduling<\/a> tracks the progress of the orders on a timeline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stock<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 is inventory management.\u00a0 Here, the user can see not only on-hand and available inventory, but also \u2018expected\u2019 stock coming in on outstanding purchases and manufacturing orders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Procurement<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 is the Purchasing module.\u00a0 Processes can be added for approving POs before sending, as well as having inspections required before items are put into inventory.\u00a0 A Forecasting feature shows MO and PO requirements for upcoming demand projections.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Notes:&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;The \u2018<em>My Production Plan\u2019<\/em>&nbsp;module allows workers\nto enter time and material consumption on MOs for which they are assigned\nwithout having full access to other modules.&nbsp; The \u2018<em>Accounting<\/em>\u2019\nmodule is a simplified, stand-alone accounting feature for users that do not\nhave an integrated accounting program (MRPeasy natively integrates with\nQuickBooks Online and Xero).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the things that I love about this program is its \u2018always on\u2019 lot tracking and how it can be used.&nbsp; Every material that is bought or made is assigned a lot number automatically, even before the items are actually received, or production is finished.&nbsp; In this way, the users can track \u2018planned goods\u2019 and create material labels to apply ahead of the work.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Should a product recall happen, the client can quickly view the supply chain of materials that went into a finished good and to which customers the items were sold.&nbsp; There\u2019s no need to set up individual items for lot tracking in the system \u2013 it is included automatically for full backward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/traceability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">traceability<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Production is where it all happens<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manufacturing companies purchase this type of software because\nthey need to track three types of costs:&nbsp; material, overhead, and\nlabor.&nbsp; These costs may be dependent upon the production process type the\ncompany is using: Project, Work Center, Batch, Line, or Continuous.&nbsp;\nMRPeasy can handle all of these.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MRPeasy tracks material through\nmulti-level Bills of Material across multiple Production Sites and locations\n(bins).&nbsp;
