Their key revenue streams come from manufacturing and supplying stock components, tubing, valves, and fittings that convey liquid and gas; and from the design, production, and assembly of bespoke parts. However, as soon as\nthey started to look at the value-added production side of the business, it\nbecame very clear that Xero could not handle it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe understood that we needed an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/mrp-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"MRP system (opens in a new tab)\">MRP system<\/a>, but did not want to implement software that would not integrate with Xero,\u201d Barrett says. \u201cNor did we want to start from the beginning and learn to use a whole new accounting software system, along with an MRP system.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking at which MRP systems integrate with Xero, Connetika identified two key offerings to trial. After trialing the two systems, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MRPeasy<\/a> came out as the winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMRPeasy offered lot traceability, which we direly needed, at a price that the other system could not match and that really made the difference,\u201d explained Barrett regarding the decision-making process. \u201cMRPeasy also offered a longer trial period that allowed us to get a better understanding of its capabilities. With his previous experience\nwith SAP Business One and Pegasus Opera, Barrett found it unnecessary to bring\nin an outside consultant. Instead, the implementation team took advantage of\nthe plentiful and thorough tutorial and support materials made available on\nMRPeasy\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe used\nthe standard implementation guide and the video tutorials,\u201d Barrett confirms.\n\u201cTogether with the initial call with the MRPeasy\u2019s Customer Success\nrepresentative, the materials were very helpful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stephen Elliott, Technical Director of Connetika, joined the company a few months after MRPeasy was implemented and also found the online materials key to getting to know the system and resolving issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe online\nvideos and help section are always my \u201cgo-to\u201d point; when a question pops up,\nthey really are very good,\u201d Elliott says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Backward scheduling drove the upgrade of the package<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting\nwith the mid-level Professional package offered by MRPeasy, Connetika has now\nupgraded to the Enterprise version of the software, driven by the growing needs\nof a growing business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are now using almost all of the MRPeasy features and we are really pushing it to establish all of its capabilities,\u201d Elliott explains. \u201cThe trigger for moving from the professional package to enterprise was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/backward-scheduling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"backward scheduling (opens in a new tab)\">backward scheduling<\/a>. I thought it was a really good feature to have in order to manufacture just-in-time and to be as lean as possible.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connetika uses MRPeasy\u2019s Production Scheduling functionality every day. They have really taken a liking to the user-friendly color-coding that shows orders in production, orders being delayed, and materials that have not been booked, which helps them identify any risks in their process flow and to manage them accordingly. They have also recently implemented the labor management functionality that produces a wide selection of different reports regarding labor costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMRPeasy\u2019s\nproduction scheduling capability is great \u2013 this is something you cannot find\neven with much more expensive products like SAP Business One,\u201d says Elliott. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of Elliott\u2019s favorite things about MRPeasy, however, is that the software allows for adding custom text almost everywhere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe problem with solutions like Pegasus Opera or SAP is that if you want to customize anything, you\u2019ll need a consultant or someone in-house that can write code,\u201d he says. \u201cOut of the box, MRPeasy provides custom fields, a PDF label editor, and reports that can be customized even by the non-IT professional.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barrett adds: \u201cThe color-coding in MRPeasy is also very useful. You can visually see if something is not adding up, this is really user-friendly and that\u2019s a big thumbs up from me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/mrpeasy-production-schedule.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/mrpeasy-production-schedule-1024x549.png\" alt=\"mrpeasy-production-schedule\" class=\"wp-image-8058\" style=\"width:512px;height:275px\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>According to Connetika, the production scheduling capability of MRPeasy tops even that of much larger systems.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>MRPeasy makes the company efficient and\nflexible<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, Connetika used an Excel spreadsheet for <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"production scheduling (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/production-scheduling\/\" target=\"_blank\">production scheduling<\/a>. Upgrading to MRPeasy has made them able to move things around, reschedule, and get some visibility in a way they could not have dreamed of when using the old system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elliott adds: \u201cMRPeasy shows us when we are in trouble. When parts don\u2019t come in and suppliers don\u2019t deliver, we can react quickly and move our production schedule. And we have to do it multiple times a day because that\u2019s how many times we get updates on when materials are coming in. The drag and drop features are also a great help in this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Customers can tell the difference<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The impact of the new system has already been felt by\nConnetika\u2019s customers as well, who have commended the company for their\nproactiveness when it comes to keeping them updated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMRPeasy\nhas given us great visibility into customer orders and their progress,\u201d Barrett\nexplains. \u201cWe have the Customer Orders page open at all times, so we have\nup-to-date information to provide to customers whenever anything in our\nproduction schedule changes. It takes just a few clicks to find out why a\nproduct is delayed and to provide the customer with an updated order\nconfirmation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat is how we have wanted to set ourselves apart from the competition \u2013 by being proactive, not reactive when it comes to customer relations,\u201d Elliott adds. \u201cWe never want a customer to phone us and say that something that was due yesterday did not arrive.
