Although movement is a key component of film-making, many of the tools used for moving cameras have not evolved in decades. Bringing robotics to TV and film, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Motion Impossible (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/motion-impossible.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Motion Impossible<\/a> provides filmmakers with unique, modular camera dolly systems that are fully stabilized and remote-controlled. Perhaps even more excitingly, Motion Impossible\u2019s designs breathe life into the new world of Virtual Reality filming where the traditional tools simply do not work, and the opportunities for creating deeper and more immersive experiences are being conceived every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Motion\nImpossible was founded in 2014 by BAFTA award winning cameraman Rob Drewett and\nproduct design engineer Andy Nancollis. With the launch of a new product line that had significantly more intricate requirements for manufacturing, they realized they needed to look for an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/enterprise-resource-planning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"ERP system (opens in a new tab)\">ERP system<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe needed\na better way to handle it \u2013 the complexity of our new product compared to the\nolder models was overwhelming for a spreadsheet-based system,\u201d says Andy\nNancollis, the co-founder and Chief Design Officer of Motion Impossible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was\none obstacle: no one in the company had any experience with ERP systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/mrpeasy-motion-impossible-components-1024x499.jpg\" alt=\"mrpeasy-motion-impossible-components\" class=\"wp-image-7854\" width=\"512\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/mrpeasy-motion-impossible-components-1024x499.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/mrpeasy-motion-impossible-components-300x146.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/mrpeasy-motion-impossible-components-768x374.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/mrpeasy-motion-impossible-components.jpg 1434w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><figcaption><strong>The complexity of Motion Impossible&#8217;s products demanded the implementation of an ERP system.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Online investigation led\nto MRPeasy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nancollis took it upon himself to find out what the best solution for their specific needs was. To do so, he conducted a thorough online investigation, evaluating multiple solution providers before making the decision. The requirements set by Nancollis and his team were quite simple: the software needed to be cloud-based, offer strong <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"inventory management (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/inventory-management\/\" target=\"_blank\">inventory management<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/bill-of-materials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Bill of Materials (opens in a new tab)\">Bill of Materials<\/a> functionalities, and be uniform in the sense that it would fit the business without the need for any special customization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cThe cost was a big factor as well \u2013 most ERP systems are big and quite expensive and so <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"MRPeasy (opens in a new tab)\">MRPeasy<\/a> stood out from the start,\u201d Nancollis says. \u201cWhile very affordable, it still manages to offer everything we need, and with plenty of room for us to grow into the software. This seems to be quite unique to MRPeasy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning to use an ERP system from scratch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With no previous experience in the realm of ERP systems,\nNancollis and their Operations Manager, Lyndsey Crossing, started to implement\nMRPeasy on their own, with Crossing at the helm. The first phase of the process\nrevolved around putting data regarding the company\u2019s inventory, bills of\nmaterials, suppliers, costs, etc. into the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLyndsey had never used an ERP, either, but she has done a terrific job learning on the job and we are very glad of what we have achieved so far,\u201d Nancollis explains. \u201cIt\u2019s an ongoing process, and a gradual one at that, but as a small company, we knew we were not going to jump from nothing to full implementation all at once.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking to scale further<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Although as for now, Motion Impossible is using MRPeasy for inventory control and BOM management, they are already looking further, planning to start using more of the system\u2019s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"production planning (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/production-planning\/\" target=\"_blank\">production planning<\/a> capabilities, as well as its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/barcode-system-manufacturing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"barcode inventory system (opens in a new tab)\">barcode inventory system<\/a>. Additional software such as Xero and Pipedrive is also on the table, thanks to MRPeasy offering integrations with both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRight now we have two people constantly using the software\n\u2013 Lyndsey from the production side and another person from research and\ndevelopment who is populating the inventory information,\u201d Nancollis details. \u201cThe\nnext step is to reassess our user base because we are going to have to push the\nsoftware out across production more widely. This argument is propped up by the fact\nthat their implementation lead has never said she could not figure something\nout on her own and has never had to ask for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As to the\nbenefits that the new system provides, Nancollis describes it as a support\nsystem that is working in the background, unnoticeably supporting them at every\nstep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMRPeasy is like a silent partner for us; we don\u2019t always realize how much we are leaning on it,\u201d he says. \u201cBut we just couldn\u2019t do a job without it, as it provides us with all the accurate information we need for the products we build. It also helps us find holes in our process and fix them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"banner-v1\">\n    <div class=\"banner__text\">\n        <div class=\"banner-v1__title\">Your business deserves recommend it to other manufacturers, as the software has worked well for improving their processes so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe haven\u2019t even scratched the surface of what MRPeasy can do, but we are very excited about exploring it further,\u201d Nancollis remarks. \u201cI really do not have anything negative to say about it and I would definitely recommend the system to other SME
