U.S. Manufacturing Expands to a Three-Year High: 5 Winners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The U.S. manufacturing sector expanded yet again in the month of February. The sector has been performing well ever since the economy started reopening following the COVID-19 induced lockdown. February\u2019s rise in manufacturing activity marks the ninth straight month of gains for the sector, according to the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the major reasons behind the rise is that people are spending a lot more on goods compared to services following the pandemic, as a result of which they are shelling out more on goods<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Budget 2021: UK Manufacturing Reacts to Rishi Sunak\u2019s Plans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has today announced the budget and the latest measures to support the UK economy in the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on the budget statement, Stephen Phipson, chief executive of\u00a0Make UK, said: \u201cGiven the difficult circumstances facing the Chancellor Industry will welcome the certainty and clarity he has provided about the route forward. This statement pursues a positive and fair middle road which balances the short-term need to avoid squeezing the recovery before it has started, whilst avoiding any artificial boost given the inevitable strong bounceback once the economy begins to open up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experts Say Australia Will See a Boost in Local Manufacturing <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An expert in quality management is forecasting a significant increase in components and machinery made locally after the Government\u2019s $1.5bn investment into its Modern Manufacturing Strategy. The change will result in improved availability and safety of consumer goods in Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Federal Government made its investment available to two of the six priority manufacturing sectors, as of this month. Manufacturers can apply for a grant to help them strengthen their local supply chain, handle mass production, upskill employees, scale up and improve competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
