The IHS Markit\/CIPS manufacturing Purchasing Managers\u2019 Index sank to 47.5 in December from 48.9 in November, although it was marginally higher than an initial flash estimate of 47.4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The weight of Brexit-related uncertainty was confirmed on Thursday by a Bank of England&nbsp;survey of nearly 3,000 chief financial officers from small, medium and large UK businesses.
