The team conducted a market search and evaluated several manufacturing software solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAt the end of the evaluation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MRPeasy<\/a> was by far the best solution for us,\u201d Giannini says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Implementation_took_4-5_months\"><\/span>Implementation took 4-5 months<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apeel Sciences began implementing MRPeasy in June 2025 and went live by the end of October, completing the transition in around 4-5 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the main challenges was migrating data. The team had to extract data from the existing system, map fields to MRPeasy, and import everything in the correct order. To simplify the process, Apeel chose not to migrate its entire historical database. Instead, it focused on the information needed to continue operations, such as current inventory balances, rather than bringing over years of history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The technical migration was only one part of the challenge. Employees also had to adjust to a completely different system, having learned how to use the old one just a few years ago. According to Giannini, the resistance gradually disappeared as users became familiar with MRPeasy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOver time, everybody realized how easy MRPeasy is to use,\u201d he says. \u201cNow, they love the product compared to the previous one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apeel also received outside help during the early stages of implementation. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/success-story-business-solution-providers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Business Solution Providers<\/a>, an experienced MRPeasy consultancy, worked with the company several times a week during the first couple of weeks, helping the team understand how to translate its existing processes into the new system. After that initial guidance, Apeel was able to continue the implementation independently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"100_of_manufacturing_flows_through_MRPeasy\"><\/span>100% of manufacturing flows through MRPeasy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, MRPeasy sits at the center of Apeel\u2019s manufacturing operation. The software is used across the company\u2019s core manufacturing workflow, from purchasing materials to producing and inspecting finished goods. The company relies heavily on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/inventory-management\/\">inventory management<\/a> to track materials and finished products, while bills of materials define the materials and quantities going into the products. Manufacturing orders then tie the process together, connecting purchasing, production, and quality activities, including inspections of incoming materials and completed products.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOne hundred percent of the manufacturing workflow is going through MRPeasy,\u201d Giannini states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company handles customer orders through a separate front-end system, which is synced with MRPeasy via API, while Xledger is used for multi-entity financial reporting and Grafana for business intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather than having employees work with separate dashboards in every business system, Apeel consolidates information into a single company-wide business intelligence dashboard. This gives users one place to monitor business activity while MRPeasy continues to handle the underlying manufacturing and inventory processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Lower_costs_and_better_traceability\"><\/span>Lower costs and better traceability<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the major benefits Apeel Sciences has realized since moving to MRPeasy is cost savings. Reducing software expenses was one of the main reasons for replacing their previous ERP, and according to Giannini, the transition delivered the savings the company had expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat was the entire reason why we did it, and it played out just the way we&#8217;d hoped,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because Apeel operates in the food industry, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/traceability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">traceability<\/a> is also particularly important. The company uses MRPeasy to maintain one-step-forward, one-step-back traceability across the materials and products involved in treating fresh produce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMRPeasy enables us to trace what goes into our coatings, which produce was treated, and where that produce ends up,\u201d Giannini says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For customers, that means better visibility and control behind the scenes, supporting the quality and traceability requirements expected throughout the food supply chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another vital factor in choosing MRPeasy was security. Giannini set up user permissions in MRPeasy and granted access to specific IP addresses via its own VPN and two-factor authentication, making access impossible for those without proper authorization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new software\u2019s customizability played a major part in its selection, as well. Apeel was able to add required fields to purchase orders, sales orders, and manufacturing workflows, making it easier to allocate transactions correctly and reconcile financial data across its international operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Move_beyond_spreadsheets_before_they_become_a_bottleneck\"><\/span>Move beyond spreadsheets before they become a bottleneck<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Giannini says spreadsheets can make perfect sense for very small companies.
