The business has two divisions: <a href=\"https:\/\/exactatech.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Exacta Technologies<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackcoretech.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Blackcore<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exacta Technologies focuses on building custom hardware platforms tailored to customers\u2019 software requirements, while Blackcore specialises in high-performance, overclocked trading servers used in electronic trading environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Landen, the group\u2019s strength lies in its ability to design, build, and deliver complete systems under one operational model \u2013 from engineering and manufacturing through to system integration and fulfilment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe effectively operate as a virtual factory for our customers,\u201d Landen explains. \u201cWe take responsibility for hardware development, manufacturing, integration, and delivery so our customers can focus on their own products and markets. The goal is to give them something they can trust to be reliable, consistent, and representative of their brand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another area where Exacta differentiates itself is its operational focus on reliability and process discipline. Rather than relying purely on reactive, on-site intervention, the company operates an advanced replacement support model where customers receive a replacement system when a fault occurs and return the defective unit for diagnosis and repair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur priority is always to build systems that don\u2019t fail in the first place,\u201d Landen says. \u201cQuality in design, assembly, and testing is what protects uptime long before support is ever needed. However, as production complexity increased, the lack of manufacturing-specific functionality became a barrier to further growth. After exploring several options, they chose <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MRPeasy<\/a> on account of its robust functionality and its native integration with Xero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMRPeasy stood out because of its excellent balance of user-friendliness and depth of functionality expected from much larger systems,\u201d Landen explains. \u201cIt gave us the tools we needed without the complexity or cost of much larger systems.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Landen led the ERP implementation internally. Although initially daunting, the vast amount of support materials available on MRPeasy\u2019s website enabled him to figure everything out on his own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMoving on to a new system was a challenge, due to the complexity of our operation,\u201d he says. \u201cWe manage large numbers of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/bill-of-materials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bills of materials<\/a>, including matrix BOMs, and deal with subcontracting and multi-stage production. But MRPeasy gave us the flexibility we needed\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"An_affordable_system_that_enables_critical_integrations\"><\/span>An affordable system that enables critical integrations<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Five years after the implementation, Exacta Technologies has 66 users set up on MRPeasy\u2019s Unlimited version. Even at this number of users on the most expensive package, Landen maintains that the software remains affordable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMRPeasy does a lot for what it costs,\u201d he says. \u201cThere are systems that cost far more and don\u2019t give you meaningfully better functionality.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exacta upgraded to the Unlimited package to access MRPeasy\u2019s API and integrate with third-party tools such as Grafana, an advanced data analytics tool. With the integration, they can generate easily understandable visual graphs for monitoring KPI\u2019s, forecasting, inventory, and purchases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe can visualise KPI\u2019s, stock levels, purchasing activity, and forecasting much more clearly now,\u201d he says. \u201cThe data is available in MRPeasy, but Grafana makes it easier to interpret and monitor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MRPeasy also provides out-of-the-box integrations with accounting apps such as Xero and QuickBooks Online. This has enabled Exacta to automatically feed material and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/production-costs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">production cost data<\/a> from MRPeasy to Xero, making accounting and financial oversight much simpler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Control_over_operations_makes_customers_happy\"><\/span>Control over operations makes customers happy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Landen, some of MRPeasy\u2019s biggest benefits are the structure it introduces into a business as well as the visibility it provides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe now have standardized processes and clear visibility across production, stock, and purchasing,\u201d he says. \u201cThis allows us to coordinate more effectively and reduce manual errors and bottlenecks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MRPeasy\u2019s BOM functionality is something Landen consistently highlights: in addition to simple single-level bills of materials, the system allows users to create and manage multi-level and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/configurable-bom-cbom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">configurable BOMs<\/a>, and to keep track of BOM versions and revisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur product set is large and complex,\u201d he states. \u201cMRPeasy allows us to manage multi-level and configurable BOMs while controlling revisions and engineering changes properly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MRPeasy has also enabled Exacta to gain control over its inventory and purchasing, helping the company to avoid shortages and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrpeasy.com\/blog\/production-downtime\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">production stoppages<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have continuous visibility into what components we hold and what\u2019s required next,\u201d Landen maintains. \u201cThat\u2019s been invaluable when dealing with long global lead times and constrained supply chains.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Landen emphasizes that MRPeasy has substantially improved the company\u2019s internal processes, which has consequently had a positive effect on their customer satisfaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re able to quote faster and schedule more accurately,\u201d Landen says. \u201cThat directly improves delivery reliability and customer communication.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Doubling_revenue_and_tripling_headcount\"><\/span>Doubling revenue and tripling headcount<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps most importantly, MRPeasy has provided Exacta Technologies the operational backbone and focus that supports their rapid expansion and increasing order volumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSince we started using MRPeasy, we have achieved over 100% growth in revenue,\u201d Landen says. \u201cAnd we have almost tripled our employee count from 25 to 70 without adding the same proportion of administrative overhead.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Exacta has grown at breakneck speed, the company has no plans to slow down. While the group is currently undergoing restructuring, its target revenue for last year was a whopping \u00a320 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for recommendations to other manufacturers looking to support their growth with digital tools, Landen is unambiguous: \u201cI recommend MRPeasy. It delivers far more capability than you might expect for its size and price.
